Avoiding Auto Accidents During Spring Break in Corpus Christi

Spring Break 2015 is here!  College students, high school students, even kindergarten kids are excited and ready to enjoy a free week out of school to enjoy the expected great weather and sunshine in South Texas.  The beach, the Texas State Aquarium, the US Lexington, restaurants and the movie theaters should be packed all of next week.  I know I plan to take my child out for some fun and safe Spring Break activities.  Corpus Christi, Tx is a great city to enjoy during Spring Break!

Don't Text and Drive!

Please be safe during Spring Break and warn your kids about the dangers involved during this time.  Please remember that texting, using apps, talking, and playing with your phone while driving a vehicle is currently causing more automobile accidents in the State of Texas than driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs.  Please warn young people and teenagers that the use of cellular phones while driving is extremely dangerous.  It is also illegal in Corpus Christi, Tx to drive while texting or talking on your phone.  Police officers will be everywhere to enforce this law and will issue expensive traffic fines if you are seen texting and driving.

Don't Drink and Drive!

Also, all law enforcement agencies are expected to be out in full force to pull over and arrest any drivers who are under the influence of alcohol or drugs.  Did you know that a DWI charge can cost close to $10,000 in fines, court costs, and legal fees?  Please keep our highways and streets safe and do not drink and drive.  An automobile accident while drinking and driving not only risks the lives of others --- it can easily ruin your life.  It is just not worth it.  Plan ahead before going to the beach and drinking and have a designated driver available!

Free Towing Service is Available!

During Spring Break, Apollo Towing Service is offering FREE towing services for any vehicle with a destination anywhere in Corpus Christi, Robstown or Portland.  The free towing serving is available from Friday, March 13 through Sunday, March 22.  You need to have your keys to the vehicle to use the service.  If you need this towing service, you can call Apollo Towing at (361) 853-0003.  So if you are intoxicated, call Apollo Towing (or a cab) and avoid drinking and driving.

I hope everyone has a fun and safe Spring Break.  However, if you are involved in a automobile accident or any other type of accident during Spring Break and suffer injury, the first thing you should do is to seek medical treatment at a local hospital or urgent care facility.  The next thing you should do is to contact a personal injury lawyer.

I have learned in handling personal injury cases for over 16 years the following truth --- victims who have been seriously injured by the negligence of other parties in any type of personal injury accident should contact a personal injury lawyer as soon as possible after the accident for legal representation.  Accidents needs to be investigated quickly and persons seriously injured need expert legal help to deal with insurance companies.  Insurance adjusters many times seek to obtain recorded statements from the injured party when such party is not represented by a lawyer and often ask confusing and misleading questions which can severely damage the injured persons bodily injury claim. Insurance companies also typically want to settle with injured parties as quickly as possible and for as little as possible before such party learns of the true severity of their injuries and before the injured party seeks the advice of an attorney.

Again, I hope everyone has a safe and fun Spring Break!  If you are unfortunate and suffer an injury due to the negligence of another party, call Rogers Law Firm at (361) 356-6057 or fill out the firm's free consultation request form.
