Rockport Artist Killed in Texas 18 Wheeler Accident

Rockport, Tx resident Jesus Moroles was killed Monday night in a trucking accident when his van rear-ended and crashed into an 18 wheeler on Interstate 35 approximately thirty miles north of Austin, Texas.  Moroles died at the scene of the crash; however, the driver of the big rig tractor trailer was not injured.

Mr. Moroles was 64 years old at the time of his death and was a highly respected artist who lived in Rockport, Texas.  In 2008, Moroles was awarded the National Medal of Arts from President George W Bush and was well known for his granite sculptures.

Regardless of who is at fault for causing a trucking accident involving an eighteen wheeler or semi tractor trailer, such crashes often result in serious personal injury or death due to the huge size disparity and weight of these trucks.
